One good thing about this year: We’ve all gotten in touch with the simpler things in life. Our day-to-day activities have definitely ventured deep into “quaint” territory, and clearly we’re not the only ones, because cottagecore fashion is trending in a big way.

What is Cottagecore?
Cottagecore is an aesthetic that’s like Taylor Swift’s new album “Folklore” and the set of Midsommar rolled into one. In other words, it’s basically our dream world. Minus the gruesome bits. (That 5th track really is a doozy.)
You might also hear it called grandmacore or farmcore. Whatever you call it, the idea is simple: Cottagecore is an antidote to the stressors of modern life, like the pull of social media and the over stimulation of, well, pretty much every minute of every day.
Want to embrace the cottagecore trend? Put down the electronics and step outside. Head into the woods. Never come back. Or, bake bread, take walks, and grow your own food. Then post your recipes and gardening tips on Instagram because, hello, it’s not actually the 1860s and we need to keep our cottagecore mood board updated.
