The Most Popular Halloween Costumes for 2022
1. Barbie and Ken
The new movie starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling hasn’t even come out yet, but it’s already generated quite the buzz. Fingers crossed that the renewed interest in Barbie will make all those boxed-up dolls in our closet worth something. The hauntings are getting out of control.

The breakout character of season four, Max, is an easy and comfortable costume option. Well, mostly. Er, spoiler alert?

If you’re going to dress up as the fake German heiress that inspired the Netflix hit Inventing Anna, you better be prepared to talk like her all night. Be prepared to lose a few friends.

Starring as the main antagonist of Amazon’s series The Boys, Homelander is basically Ken but with every superpower imaginable. Except for the ability to remember people’s names immediately after being introduced, probably.

The Ms. Marvel miniseries on Disney+ set up the backstory for Kamala Khan in preparation for the upcoming 2023 movie, The Marvels. It’s the story of a sixteen-year-old fangirl turned “one of the gang,” which is weirdly not how it went when we broke into the Jonas Brothers’ dressing room.

12. Marc Spector from Moon Knight
Another miniseries from the Marvel universe, Moon Knight starred Oscar Isaac and need we say more? Okay, we will. The best part about this costumes is that it’s a three-in-one, because of Marc’s dissociative personality disorder. So if you get tired of being dressed up, just put on some jeans and say you’re Steven Grant.

Hulu’s dystopian series might feel a touch too close to our reality right now, but Halloween‘s your chance to make a statement. And that statement is: you look fantastic in red. And bans off our bodies.

18. Harry Styles
He’s a singer, actor, songwriter, boy band front-man, Taylor Swift’s ex, and the first man to appear solo on the cover of Vogue. Most importantly, he has great hair.
Harry Styles’ flamboyant sense of style means there are countless iconic fashion moments to choose from, but the cover look from Fine Line is a timeless costume choice. Well, if you ignore the whole “no white after Labor Day” thing. We’re certain Harry would.

Mushrooms are in. We have some guesses as to why, and we’re here to embrace it. And the fact that the costume version is semi-phallic makes the trend even better. Even if you do end up looking like Super Mario’s Toad.

20. Doctor Strange
The third-highest grossing film of 2022, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness brought the Sorcerer Supreme back to the silver screen. Not that he ever really left. The devil works hard, but Marvel works harder. And Kris Jenner works harder than both of them combined.
