Even if Dry January is over, plenty of people are sober – or sober-curious – all year round. If you’re tired of always explaining to people why you’re not drinking (as if it’s their business), visit one of these non-alcoholic bars around the world and finally sip your mocktails in peace. And, enjoy the fact that you won’t be dealing with a hangover in the morning.
Alcohol-free bars may not sound like a real thing, but they’re becoming more and more popular all over the globe.
From Austin to Tokyo, we found the coolest non-alcoholic cocktail bars to add to your bucket list. Now you can get to living your best booze-free lifestyle! And then you can do the mature thing and ruin your life with things like sugar and coffee instead.
The Coolest Non-Alcoholic Bars Around the World
1. Sans Bar, Austin, Texas, USA
Sans Bar in Austin may be sans alcohol, but it’s not sans fun. What started as a pop-up experience to help booze-free people feel comfortable hanging out without alcohol has become a permanent location serving up mocktails and good vibes.
Our only gripe is that it’s only open on Friday nights, which is a problem for us Thursday night partying warriors. Fridays are our date nights with Dominos.
2. Hekate, New York, New York, USA
If you hate booze and love all things witchy, this is the place for you. Hekate in New York City is all about celebrating the powerful Greek goddess of magic and witchcraft without the need for alcohol. Pour one out for genius branding. Not that one – we were drinking that.
You’ll find a number of mocktails and elixirs, like their best-selling drink, The Healer, a lemonade and lavender concoction, or a virgin Piña Colada.
3. The Mocktail Lounge, St. Charles, Missouri, USA
The Mocktail Lounge in St. Charles, Missouri has a variety of syrupy sweet mocktails that’ll get you drunk on sugar instead of alcohol. What this 1940s-themed sober lounge does well is mimicking your favorite boozy drinks, like the Cary Grant which is a dead ringer for a martini.
And don’t even get us started on the charcuterie board. Seriously, don’t. We won’t be able to stop. Our self control begins and ends at cocktails.
4. Mr. Fitzpatrick’s, Rawtenstall, United Kingdom
If you ever find yourself outside Manchester in the United Kingdom, grab an alcohol-free cocktail or chocolate treat from Mr. Fitzpatrick’s. With flavors from Sarsaparilla to Lemon & Ginger, these retro drinks will bring back a feeling of nostalgia, without the risk of contracting something from the bottle that’s been in your grandma’s garage since before you were born.
The restaurant and sober bar pours all the brand’s mixed drinks all day. You’ll never have to wonder if it’s five o’clock somewhere again.
5. Kava Social, Brooklyn, New York, USA
A hipster spot like Kava Social feels right at home in Brooklyn, New York. Rather than just offering craft cocktails, though, this spot organizes their mocktails into categories like Focus, Energy, and more made with the Kava plant.
You can post up all day and work from the lounge, or come at night for socializing. Either way, save us a Focus. We could use… squirrel!

6. 0%, Tokyo, Japan
The artisan cocktails from 0% are almost too pretty to drink. But we’d never let a perfectly good mocktail go to waste!
Here, you’ll find a selection of premium non-alcoholic drinks, including one called A Real Pleasure, and an offering containing CBD oil. Because we can’t give up all our guilty pleasures. Just check our Netflix queue.
7. The Other Side, Crystal Lake, Illinois, USA
The Other Side in Illinois is both a cafe and sober bar, which means you can munch on a croissant alongside both your mocktail and latte. The more drinks you have going at once, the better. Give us “things you can’t say about alcohol” for 200, Alex! Or, whoever took his place. Too soon?
What stands out about the mocktail menu at this spot is how refreshing and fancy all the drinks are. Order up a Hibiscus Hiatus or Alchemist’s Dream and ponder what you’re going to do tomorrow morning without a debilitating headache.
8. Ocean Beach Cafe, San Francisco, California, USA
San Francisco’s Ocean Beach Cafe has it all — bottle shop, event space, food, craft mocktails, and mixology classes. Everything but the booze, that is. You’ll also find Bay Area vibes and unique options like dealcoholized wine.
You can even sign up for their subscription service and get non-alcoholic spirits and mixers sent right to your house. Tune in next week for the newest addition to this list: our living room. All are welcome, as long as you’re a cat.
9. Wildcrafters, Jacksonville, Florida, USA
At Wildcrafters, every month is Dry January. And, a tropical vacation. Here, you won’t be sad about your alcohol-free lifestyle when you have so complicated and beautiful concoctions try in a gorgeous plant-filled environment.
No, seriously. They have a drink called the Kava Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cocktail. Need we say more? Okay, we’ll say one more thing. Book us a one-way ticket to Jacksonville, please.
10. Listen Bar, New York, New York, USA
Listen Bar is more of an experience than a location. They do pop-ups and events, bringing their musical bartenders (it is New York, after all) out to shake up some alcohol-free drinks. Listen Bar isn’t a regular bar, it’s a cool bar. Now pipe down, they’re singing Taylor Swift.
