It’s the holidays and you know what that means. A pony under the tree? Well, sure. But, it also means lots of free goodies from Starbucks thanks to the return of their annual holiday game Starbucks for Life.
Starting on November 28, the Starbucks for Life game is back for the 10th year in a row and you can win anything from a bonus star to a Delta gift card. Or, free Starbucks for life. (And, by life Starbucks means 30 years.)
What Is the Starbucks for Life Game?
The Starbucks for Life game is a seasonal game in which Starbucks Rewards members will get the chance to win one of over 10 million prizes by playing seasonal Starbucks and coffee-themed games other than “can I get through the drive-thru line and make it to work in time.” You can try it out here.
The game started on November 28th and runs through December 31st, 2023. This year, for its 10th anniversary, they’re doing Double Play Mondays which means you can play by shaking the snowglobe twice every Monday. Which isn’t a euphemism, though you are welcome to dance while playing.
How Do I Play?
If you’re over 18, simply go to the Starbucks for Life website and sign in with your Starbucks Rewards credentials to play. If you’re not a Starbucks Rewards member, you can sign up for free.
Once you’re logged in, each day you’ll be able to tap to shake the (virtual) snowglobe if you’ve made a purchase that day using the app. If, during the course of the game you get three matching collect and win pieces in the same category, you’ll win that prize.
The game also sometimes spits out Instant Win prizes in the form of Starbucks gift cards or bonus stars. If you see that you won, but don’t see your prize immediately, that’s normal. It can take up to 24 hours for the stars to arrive in your account.

What is Holiday Run?
Holiday Run is a game within a game. Think of it like Inception but with penguins and other animals instead of Leonardo DiCaprio. And, coffee prizes and power-ups instead of a film that makes you question reality.
In it, you’ll run through a world as your chosen character (like Waddles, below), collecting Starbucks cups and leaping over obstacles like fire hydrants. It’s a lot like Chrome’s offline dinosaur game, but with better graphics.
The first time you play Holiday Run, you’ll be gifted an invincibility power-up. To get it again, you’ll need to buy a coffee or another Starbucks item. For every purchase you make during the time the game is running, you’ll get one power up.
You can earn power-ups like double points or healing, by completing in-game achievements or through the Instant Win snowglobe game.
How Do I Get Bonus Plays?
To get more chances to win the Starbucks for Life prizes, you can complete each of these one time for an extra play. You may earn a total of 7 bonus plays during the game period.
- Add more money to your account.
- Place a mobile order.
- Purchase two drinks in one transaction.
- Make a purchase on a Saturday or Sunday.
- Make the number of purchases indicated on the Starbucks for Life game site on that day.
- Play the indicated number of days or number of days in a row on the site.
- Redeem the number of stars indicated on the site at a participating Starbucks store that day.
- Make the number of transactions indicated on the site at a Starbucks store after noon (your time)
- Follow the instructions on the site to choose and complete a challenge, watch a video, and complete a survey.

I STILL can’t figure out how & when to access the ‘power-ups’ I’ve won on the Starbucks game! It’s impossible to use them while the little animated guys are running along in the game cuz they’re going too fast & you have to pay attention. Then, when you miss three, you’ve automatically ended the game! It’s over, so when do you use the power-ups?
