Spring has officially sprung at Starbucks, and the coffee giant isn’t holding back on floral flair. With the arrival of Starbucks Spring 2024 menu, featuring three tantalizing lavender-infused beverages, floral enthusiasts everywhere are buzzing with excitement.
The new menu is available in U.S. stores starting March 7, and introduces the Iced Lavender Cream Oatmilk Matcha and the Iced Lavender Oatmilk Latte, and the Lavender Creme Frappuccino to the menu just in time for the spring colors of green and purple to start peeking out from under the snow. (Sorry, Midwesterners, you’ve got like one more month until that happens.)
I had the opportunity to sample these delightful concoctions, and here’s my official review of Starbucks spring menu, ranked worst to best.
According to Starbucks, the new lavender line was inspired by the beverage development team’s day trip to Sequim, Washington, a place known as the “Lavender Capital of North America.”
Lead Beverage Developer Patrick Penny said, “We have an abundance of lavender farms in Washington state; it’s a really beautiful floral and it smells amazing. We were in the fields cutting various stalks of lavender, smelling different varietals, looking at the flowers … trying not to get stung by bees.”
Starbucks Spring Menu for 2024, Ranked Worst to Best
1. Chicken, Maple Butter, and Egg Sandwich
I really wanted to like this one. I love a good spicy chicken sandwich and maple bacon donuts are my favorite donut flavor (preferably from Voodoo). But, this just felt greasy, heavy, and too sweet. It also just looks sad.
Also, the bread. Guys. No. I would say making bread at scale is hard, but then I look at Così and Paris Baguette. I would skip this one.

2. Iced Lavender Oatmik Latte
Made with blonde espresso and three lavender powder scoops, Starbucks says of this lavender latte that “the sweet and subtly floral notes of lavender come together for a latte with a springtime twist.” I agree. Also, probably better hot.

3. Iced Lavender Oatmilk Matcha
This is a matcha latte topped with lavender cold foam. On my first sip I was thinking, wow, that’s sweet. And, it seemed like the lavender was winning, flavor-wise. Then it was the matcha, then the lavender. Then, me asking myself why did I order a tall size?
If you like the two flavors separately, you’ll find they play together nicely in the Lavender Matcha. Even if the combination of green and purple foam looks a bit like someone melted Maleficient. Be ready to see it all over TikTok and Instagram.

4. Lavender Creme Frappuccino
It took a lot – and I mean, a lot – of willpower not to drink all of this in one sip. But, in an effort to save myself from a brain freeze and sugar high at 8am, I paused after a few sips to put this coffee-free Frappuccino in the fridge. It didn’t seem any sweeter than the Lavender Matcha, and the flavor was reminiscent of lavender ice cream.
Will it replace the Caramel Frappuccino as my all-time favorite? No, but it does make my top three.

5. Cold Brew with Lavender Cold Foam
This isn’t an official new menu item, but I ordered it as one of my favorite drinks when it’s warm out (read: above 60 degrees), is the Cold Brew with Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Foam. I was curious what it tasted like with the new lavender powder. And, while yes, it does taste vaguely like soap (if you’re a lavender fan, you know how this goes), it was fantastic. It’s possibly now one of my go-to drinks.
If you want to order it, ask for cold brew with lavender cream cold foam. Also, follow us on TikTok!

6. Potato, Cheddar, and Chive Bites
These little squares of deliciousness might be the best thing on Starbucks new Spring menu for 2024. Soft, with just enough cheese to hold everything together. The cheddar, potato, and chive combine as if they’re meant for each other. Plus, they’re 210 calories with 12 grams of protein, so they can work on those I-forgot-to-make-breakfast mornings.
It’s so perfect for Spring that now I have to find a copycat recipe so I can make them for Ostara and Easter brunches.

Are Any of the New Items on Starbucks Spring Menu Vegan?
Yes! The Iced Lavender Oatmilk Latte is vegan.
The ingredients in Starbucks lavender powder are: sugar, salt, natural lavender flavor, color from fruit and vegetable concentrate (carrot and black currant), and soybean oil. Making it fully vegan, but not exactly what we’d call “good for you.”
